Fuzzy Logic
Medicine Hat — a time for settling down, chilling out, taking on part-time work, fishing, camping, and small talk. Days of cooking, nights of drinking, saving up, breaking up, and eventually, ending up back at the starting point.
Mississippi — family reunions, memories of childhood friends, thoughts of marriage and family. Completing various tasks, piecing together life’s puzzle. Airport goodbyes lead back to the starting point.
Hamilton — a cycle of building networks, funding ideas, planting seeds, dropping out of school, and once again, back to the beginning.
Victoria — building relationships, planting seeds, facing illness, and balancing housework. Moving to SF, breaking up, earning a living, farewells.
Life plateaus: poutine, reputation, glory, setbacks, assignments, new connections, encounters with racism, grappling with faith, and still, back to the starting point.
Wine, seafood, port towns, a touch of Dutch culture, Atlanta, grey houses, wine nights in Columbus Square, dazzling streets — only to end up back at the beginning.
Mississippi — Dazzling nights, a spark of rebellion, shouting, then, with conviction, a calm resignation.
Even if life hands me the same situations on repeat, I choose to accept the message humbly instead of resisting. Perhaps there’s a reason I’m meant to stay here. I will strive to find happiness within these bounds.
The moment we recognize that life holds no built meaning, we release ourselves from attachment and discover a greater sense of freedom.
Life itself is rebellion — I’ll accept it and feel the freedom within it by Albert Camus.
